Sustainability
Spyced curry kits are upcycled from pre-loved saris, which have been specially selected for their pattern throughout the fabric. This selection process is no mean feat and requires hours of research and sifting to find the right sari for the job. We are now starting to work more with embroidered fabric too; expert Spyced-seamstress Diana has to navigate her way through these beautiful pieces of fabric without breaking the delicate needles on the sewing machine. The individual bag ties are made from recycled jute and are sewn on to the fabric in the seam once the bags have been created.
Compostable inner bags
The inner bags that contain the Spyced blends are fully compostable and are created from biofilm made from wood pulp. Polybags.co.uk provide these for us; you can read more about them here.
Compostable seals
Until I am able to find compostable bags with grip- seals, Spyced curry kits will be sealed using compostable sticker-seals to keep the spices beautifully fresh. The ones used here at Spyced are made from biodegradable cellulose and can be found here.
Postage materials
Spyced postage materials (including envelopes, boxes and tape) have been made from recycled and biodegradable materials. On occasion we may also re-use postage materials we have received orders in, as an environmentally sound option.

A complex blend of spices which give a hot, tangy and deeply savoury flavour spiked with the sourness of vinegar for perfect balance.
